Nashville Fashion Week #WhyNFW

This past weekend I had the amazing opportunity of attending one of the fashion shows that was a part of Nashville Fashion Week. I had an amazing time, the venue was beautiful and all of the designers put on a great show! I attended the Emerging Designer Showcase in Partnership with OZ Arts Nashville. OZ Arts is a space that “supports the creation, development and presentation of significant performing and visual art works by leading artists whose contribution influences the advancement of their field.” There are always new presentations and exhibits and you can read more on their site here. I thought it was very cool that the fashion show was held in partnership with OZ Arts because fashion is art, the different designs, colors, textures, and themes can be compared to a painting or art installation in any museum.

It was so amazing to see all of their hard work out on the runway and it was a great experience for my first real fashion show. As far as my outfit, I had to scramble to put this together because as we know I am very last minute, but luckily I had this fabulous jumpsuit already in my closet. The jumpsuit is from SHēk by Savannah , which is unfortunately sold out but you can find some similar ones here and here. The lace bralette is from Victoria’s Secret, here is a similar one. My duster, earrings, and shoes are all from Forever21. The earrings and shoes are not available on the site but here are some similar earrings and there are also similar shoes here and here.

Even if you don’t live in a major fashion city like New York or Paris, go out and explore the fashion world that is around you! My first two years in Nashville I had no idea that Nashville even had a fashion week but I am so glad that I went and it was a great experience. Have you been to a fashion week show?
