For my graduation, my mother graciously gifted me with a cruise to the Caribbean. We spent 8 days and 7 nights aboard the Carnival Vista and I had an amazing time. Starting at the port in Miami, we traveled to Grand Turk, La Romana in the Dominican Republic, Curaçao, and Aruba. It was so amazing to see the beauty and culture of the different islands and to learn about the history from the people who lived there. I made sure to get tons of pictures and souvenirs along the way. Here are just a few snaps from my trip.
Grand Turk
Grand Turk was gorgeous! The water was perfect, clear and cold enough to cool you off from the hot sun and beautiful when taking pictures. We did not stay on the island long so we mostly walked along the beach, took a lot of pictures, and went to visit Margaritaville. The bikini that I wore in the pictures was from Victoria’s Secret.
La Romana
La Romana was a cool place to visit. At the cruise terminal there were many native islanders selling different jewelry, homemade skin and hair products, decor for your home, and other items. While at the terminal we tried “fish therapy”, where tiny fish eat at the dead skin cells on your feet. It was ticklish and felt like tiny jacuzzi bubbles, but after my feet felt amazing! I don’t think my feet ever felt so soft.
Once on the actual island we took a bus to the market where we were able to purchase handmade souvenirs. If you are not one to handle many people trying to sell you things at once and haggle prices, I would not suggest La Romana for you. It definitely became annoying, being prompted to purchase similar items from different people, but it does teach you how to haggle and get the most for your money.
I don’t remember where I purchased my bikini top, I have had it for years, but the cover up is from Missguided and the shorts American Eagle.
Curaçao
Curaçao was definitely my favorite island on the trip. It was gorgeous and the city was so colorful and vibrant. We started the visit with an island bus tour with a local guide telling us about the history of the island. We ended the tour with a visit to a secluded beach area that allowed us to enjoy the island and the beach without many other people crowding the area.
My bikini was purchased from Target many years ago.
Aruba
Aruba was my second favorite island to visit. We took a bus tour around the island and the stone structures and water were a beautiful sight (not to mention all the goats)! Did you all know that Aruba is a desert? I did not know until we took the tour and our guide told us all about the different types of cacti that inhabit the island and the arid climate. We did not get to stay on the beach long but touring the island was a great experience.

Sounds like you had a grand time girl! It’s a pity I reside in the Caribbean but I’ve never done one of those cruise and been to some of my neighbouring islands 😦 Next time I hope you get to come to my beautiful island of Barbados 😀 ❤️
