Fenty Beauty Review

Learn how to “Kiss It Better” with Fenty Beauty. Rihanna turned the entire makeup industry on its head when she released her makeup line. With its inclusive shade ranges, dazzling highlighters and body shimmers, and wild lip shades, Fenty has come to be one of the biggest names in makeup in a very short amount of time. Being the huge Rihanna fan that I am, of course I had to get my hands on some products and quickly fell in love.

Fenty Beauty products

Starting with everyone’s new cult favorite lip gloss, the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer ($18). I have the original shade, Fenty Glow, which is described as a shimmering rose nude. It has a beautiful hue that is flattering to all shades and is not sticky like most glosses. It comes with a large doe foot applicator that makes it easy to apply with just one or two swipes. The gloss just generally feels good to put on and makes you want to trade in all of your matte lipsticks. It has become one of my favorite glosses to use and pairs well with any look.

Another Fenty Beauty staple is the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter ($34). When Rihanna previewed the highlighter in the shade Trophy Wife, everyone was shocked at how bright and shimmery it was. And all of the other shades released followed suit. I have two of the highlighter duos in Mean Money/Hu$tla Baby and Ginger Binge/Moscow Mule. The former is described as a soft champagne sheen/supercharged peachy champagne shimmer and the latter as a soft copper sheen/supercharged copper shimmer. They have a soft texture and a lot of pigment so be careful when applying. My favorite of the two duos has to be the Ginger Binge/Moscow Mule, it is the PERFECT pink highlighter for my skin tone and the shimmer looks AMAZING in the sunlight. I love the sheens for a more everyday, simple look and the shimmers when I’m feeling more glam.

Rihanna also gave us highlight and contour products to help with a complete face. The Match Stix Trio ($54) are “long-wear makeup sticks curated by skin tone, with two Match Stix Matte Skinsticks to conceal and contour, and one Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick to highlight”. I have the trio in Tan 300 – Caramel, Truffle, Rum. The caramel Match Stix is too light for me to contour with but the perfect color for my highlight. The Truffle is not dark enough to contour, however it is perfect as a concealer and hides all of my dark marks and large pores. Rum is a beautiful golden highlighter that is a bit more subtle than the Killawatt Freestyle highlighters. You are probably wondering why I didn’t just get the next shade lower. Well, the deep concealer is too light for me to use as a concealer and not light enough for a highlight so I went with the Tan trio instead. I love that the Match Stix are matte and work well to keep my oily skin under control. They are also magnetized and stick together, perfect for travel and keeping them from getting lost.

One of my most recent Fenty Beauty purchases is the Flyliner Longwear Liquid Eyeliner ($20) in Cuz I’m Black, described as a “true satin black”. The Flyliner is “a hyper-saturated, water-resistant, liquid eyeliner with an innovative flex tip and easy-grip triangle shape for effortless, no-limit lining that lasts.” This is by far the smoothest eyeliner I have ever used. When applying it feels likes the equivalent to cutting butter and it is the perfect shade of black. The flex tip allows you to control the width of the line and customize your look without any hassle.

If you are looking for a palette packed with glitter and shine, look no further than the Galaxy Eyeshadow Palette, “a limited-edition glitter eyeshadow palette of 14 star-dusted shades designed to accessorize any eye look.” This palette is perfect for when I want to do more full-glam, glitzy looks, or even when my inner eye corner needs a dash of glitter. The shades have amazing pay off and are velvety to the touch. The glitters can get a little messy, as most glitter eyeshadows do, so I would recommend to do your eye look first, and then clean up when applying foundation, concealer, etc.

I love all of the Fenty Beauty products that I have and it is often rare when the majority of a brand’s products are all amazing. Have you tried any Fenty Beauty? What products do you love and which have you had your eye on? Let me know in the comments.
